Archive (Friday, 12 September 2008)

In organization of the Macedonian community in Germany, the “United Macedonians” and expatriate organizations in Europe in the International Press Centre in Brussels held a round table and a conference titled "Macedonia Forum: Discussion centered on the mysterious European epicenter " where guest speakers for the truth of Macedonia were: Dr. Hans-Lothar STEPPAN, former Ambassador of Germany in Macedonia and author of the book " Macedonian Knot " and this year winner of the award Misirkov for a lifetime achievement, Prof. Dr. Wolf Oschlies, a linguist - macedonist, author of the book "Macedonia from 2001 to 2004.

War Diary of a peaceful country” and more journalistic articles for Macedonia,  Mr. Ireneusz A. Slupkov from Poland, author of "The Communist Party of Greece and the Macedonian national problem 1914-1940”, and Mr. Jean Wolf, historian and publicist, author of "Partitioned Macedonia”.

The round table "Macedonia Forum: Discussion centered on the mysterious European epicenter " presented the Macedonian position in front of the doors of the European Union, its prospects and challenges as parallel with the pressures upon her reputation, identity and dignity as an independent country before the international community.

Dr. Hans-Lothar STEPPAN spoke about historical trends of the divisions of Macedonia as a result of the Balkan wars, accusing Greece, which contrary to international norms and laws annexed and occupied part of Macedonia, Thrace and Epirus. Greece should take responsibility for the truth and justice.

The European Commission and other European institutions know these facts  and if continue to support Greece with fake solidarity, then there must be bigger interests behind the scenes. I think the background are the Balkan Wars and relations between the Balkan League and the Entente before the First World War.

Prof. Dr. Wolf Oschlies  had chronological presentation about the overall picture of Macedonia, its independence through the conflict in 2001 to the name issue and the blackmail by the European institutions on the standards for entry into the European Union. Responding to reporters that "corruption in Macedonia was one of the key points of entry into the EU”, prof. Dr. Wolf Oschlies  pointed that "not Macedonia, but exactly Greece is the most corrupt country in Europe."

Ireneusz A. Slupkov  addressed the Aegean part of Macedonia (of Macedonian origin himself deported from Aegean Macedonia) and the period between 1914-1940 elaborated in his book as well the rights of the Macedonian minority in Greece today. Slupkov emphasized the fact: "if the Aegean part of Macedonia was Greek why there was a need for renaming toponyms in that part of Macedonia after the entry of Greek troops in 1913?". Slupkov also did not skipped the topic on the rights of Macedonian minority in Greece and the return of their confiscated properties.

The Belgian historian, journalist and publicist Jeanne Wolf talked about the existence of the Macedonian glorious country in antiquity, its restoration as a contribution to World War II in the anti-fascist war as an equal member of the Federation and its independence in 1991. Jean Wolf in 1984 published the book "Partitioned Macedonia" in Paris, and his second manuscript of Macedonia is expected later this year to be released first in French and then in Macedonian and English.
